The Change Room is built up of a small group of talented individuals who share a common goal and passion for changing lives. 

Each member of our humble team brings their expertise, personal attributes and special quirks, contributing to an incredible group of hard-working and inspiring people and result in the all-round unique experience that we offer all participants of our wellbeing programs and coaching packages. 



John is a co-founder of the Change Room and focuses on business development and client management at the strategic level.  Prior to starting The Change Room with Matt, John spent almost 20 years in Health & Safety recruitment and consulting to a wide range of Australia’s private sector and government agencies. Prompted by client need, John began research into effective wellbeing programs. This, in turn, led to a chance meeting with Matt Elliott in 2016 that changed everything… and shortly thereafter The Change Room was born.


John has a passion for helping people and loves a problem to solve so with these two things in mind, John worked with Matt to create a wellbeing program that is equally effective in improving the wellbeing of those in the workplace or workers recovering from injury and illness. John can talk your ear off about spreadsheets and process if you give him the chance…but at the core is an entrepreneur, so watch this space and look out for further development at The Change Room.




As the Human Resource and Project Manager, Teena is the lynchpin between The Changes Room’s Senior Leaders and the members of staff. She provides indispensable wise counsel and consultation on business strategy development. Teena also leads the resulting projects from conception through to completion, ensuring timely deployment of outputs into the business operation. Teena is responsible for attracting, motivating, and retaining talent as well as handling employee-related services, regulatory compliance and employee relations.


Teena is qualified with a Bachelor of Business, a Cert IV in Training & Assessing and a Cert IV in Project Management. She has worked across the Public Service, Finance, Mining and Legal industries providing over 20 years’ experience in Human Resources, Training & Development and Business Improvement.  




Toni-Anne is one of the Kiwis in our team, who has a passion for working alongside people to rebuild their lives and work to achieve their goals.  People succeeding drives Toni-Anne, whose career has centred around supporting others to move their lives to the next level.  She began her working life as a Social Worker and Forensic Interviewer. Relocating to Australia in 2011, she entered the insurance industry as a Case Manager in Workers’ Compensation. 


Determined to regain her life after a traumatic brain injury, Toni-Anne can relate to the desire to return to health and eventually return to work.  Her recovery utilised a number of the principles taught in The Change Room Program, and Toni-Anne can attest firsthand to the positive impact the program can have on people’s lives.  Based back ‘across the ditch’ these days, Toni-Anne plays an integral role in promoting how The Change Room can accelerate recovery from injury, to key stakeholders and treating providers with the worker compensation world on both sides of the Tasman.




Philippa holds a BA (Hons, first-class) in Industrial & Organisational Psychology, is a certified retirement coach and holds level 1 & 2 certifications in Health & Wellbeing Coaching through Wellness Coaching Australia. 

Philippa has a passion for helping others to realise their potential whether it be their health or career. Philippa’s empathy towards her clientele is born from her own experience in managing anxiety and depression and parking it where it belongs, in the backseat! She has over 20 years’ experience in people development focused roles including recruitment, assessment and selection, corporate talent management, account management and career transition. With work and wellbeing being so closely intertwined, Philippa now focuses on Wellness & Life Design support.




Annaliese is The Change Room events’ administrative powerhouse working closely with the Events and Marketing Coordinator to ensure the smooth running of each event. She is also the important first point of contact for participants, with The Change Room.  She has the Midas touch in conveying warmth, care, compassion and her sunny disposition to each and every participant, ensuring the best possible experience going into The Change Room programs. Like many of us at The Change Room Annaliese draws on her own recovery experience to have a positive impact on those making the change to greater wellbeing and life.



Matt is the co-founder and creator of The Change Room.

Arguably best known for his long NRL coaching career, the spotlight has most recently been on Matt as co-founder and creator of The Change Room. Combining both his qualifications (a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sports Science), performance coaching experience and extensive research into wellbeing, Matt has created a best in the market program which is changing hundreds of peoples’ lives for the better.

 Underpinned by the ‘8 Foundations of Wellness’ and with the assistance of The Change Room Coaches and world-renowned mentors, The Change Room Program is not only highly effective in accelerating recovery from illness and injury, but it also serves as a key preventative. Evidence-based, it encourages the improvement of physical, mental, and emotional capacities through implementing very simple routines into people’s lives and workplaces.

Claire has been with The Change Room from the very beginning and has been a key part of its growth and success. She brings a huge amount of energy, work capacity and passion to her varied role which can best be described as ‘bringing The Change Room to life’. Claire leverages 10 years of customer service experience and a ‘newly minted’ Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, to ensure The Change Room delivers quality programs that are always effective, enjoyable and produce amazing life-changing outcomes for everyone involved.

She believes in making first impressions count whether it be through exceptional participant engagement, business development or facilitating stakeholder learning and development. Claire is your key contact for all things Change Room!




Yela is a Certified IIN Health Coach, Level 1 Wellness Australia Coach, Group Fitness Trainer and a Yoga Instructor. After a successful corporate career that spanned over 25 years, where Yela held various senior management roles in the Travel and Tourism Industry, a serious health issue in 2014 led her to re-evaluate life ac


Yela followed her new passion and embarked on a new career in Health and Wellbeing, working with individuals and organisations delivering healthy lifestyle coaching, workshops, seminars and programs. With a passion for bringing out potential and seeing people at their best, Yela partners with her clients to identify, take action, upgrade behaviours and achieve their goals through on-going support, encouragement and motivation.


Yela is focused on supporting individuals to implement long term sustainable changes to their wellbeing, to enable them to become the best version of themselves.




With over 10 years in Incentive Events, Promotional Marketing & Account Management, Bonnie brings with her a diverse range of skills and experience. She holds certificates in Creative Writing and Content and Social Media which she is applying with great skill to lift The Change Room online presence!

Bonnie has organised and hosted an array of successful international and domestic events for Media Channels and Brands such as Network Ten, Multi Channel Network (MCN) Southern Cross Austereo, Nike, Toyota, Volkswagen and Nova.

Talent liaison experience includes working with numerous high-profile athletes and performers.  As such, Bonnie is the perfect key contact for The Change Room Mentors and Speakers.  From networking and engagement skills to event delivery and promotion, Bonnie ensures The Change Room Programs are promoted and delivered successfully.



Behind every successful, well-run business is a strong support team. Meet Katie, mum of 3, a business owner in her own right and our financial wizard. Katie ensures that the figures balance out day to day, week to week, allowing The Change Room to focus on what it does best, changing peoples’ lives for the better!
Lucky us, we benefit from Katie’s 15+ years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounts, and business management from small sole traders to multi-million dollar SME’.  Working autonomously and collaboratively, Katie can quickly and easily apply best practice, complete tasks and be of value to the team.
