Our inspiring mentors have either a lived experience and/or expertise in recovery from chronic illness, injury, trauma or a personal setback.

Their health, resilience and wellbeing strategies take a sports science approach and are evidence-informed following successes with world champions, high-performance athletes and business leaders.

​

They are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping others improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

MATT ELLIOTT

Founder of the Change Room, Matt is passionate about giving participants confidence, hope and a fresh start.

He draws on his 28-year NRL career as a coach and player to motivate people into finding a new lease on life. 

​

Matt developed The Change Room after overcoming a serious condition that doctors said he'd be stuck with for the rest of his life. After a year of suffering, he turned to cutting-edge techniques to beat his injuries and illnesses.


Six weeks later he was cured. His doctors were stunned. Matt now spends his days helping others recover and repair.

ANTHONY MINICHIELLO

As a professional athlete, Mini suffered serious spinal injuries on the field. He was told by doctors he'd never play again. 

​

Determined to find a solution and extend his playing career, Mini developed ground-breaking nutrition and exercise techniques to heal himself. He played a further 300 games for the NRL, taking his team to Premiership victory in 2013.


Mini now shares his incredible philosophies with participants, giving them new tools to accelerate their own recovery.

DR ALI WALKER

With a PhD in human behaviour and Masters' Degree in criminal law and international relations, Ali is the resident expert on behaviour and social connection. 

Ali developed a special personality assessment tool, which helps The Change Room participants develop stronger communication skills and better relationships. The science behind this is amazing, but more important is the impact this has on our life expectancy. 

Ali's session includes practical tools to improve group connection and communication, increase the effectiveness of leadership and elevate group dynamics.

ROWDY MCLEAN

Rowdy McLean is Australia's most experienced leadership speaker and mentor. An expert in both business and leadership who works with organisations across the globe delivering more than 1200 presentations to over 1,000,000 people in 17 countries.

Nam has over 22 years of experience in the health, fitness & wellbeing industry focusing his skills in emotional and physiological intelligence & peak performance. Nam's session covers the power of the breath and how it impacts the overall health and wellbeing of your mind and body. 

A former martial artist and expert free diver who can hold his breath for 7 minutes, Nam is one of the world's most in-demand performance coaches. 

Nam has turned his scientific research in physiological intelligence into practical information, sharing the same secrets that turn athletes into world champions and executives into business leaders.

JEFF HARDY

A proud Ualaroi man, Jeff's passion is to share the teachings that have been passed down through generations of Indigenous Australians. Over the past 15 years, Jeff has helped thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to improve their lives and reconnect with the teachings of the indigenous culture. The results of this have been life-changing. 

As a mentor for The Change Room, Jeff would like to share with you the wisdom and knowledge from his culture that enabled indigenous Australians to exist in harmony with the land and in amazing health over tens of thousands of years. These timeless practices have stood the test of time and are sure to have an impact with you.

NIC BEVERIDGE

Nic became paralysed from the waist down at age 17, after contracting a rare neurological condition. 


Since then, he has risen to the top of his field in paratriathlon - swimming, recumbent hand cycling and wheelchair racing.

A Paralympic champion and gold medallist, Nic shares powerful messages around starting new chapters and finding inspiration, even when your tank is empty. 

MARK HUGHES

Mark is an Australian former professional Rugby League footballer of the 1990s and 2000s for the Newcastle Nights. 

After being diagnosed with brain cancer in 2013, Mark along with his wife Kirralee decided to help find a cure and established the remarkable Mark Hughes Foundation for brain cancer. Mark is a true inspiration and pioneer, finding a better way for so many facing challenges. 

As a Mentor, Mark shares the importance of being present, the value of having fun and not sweating the small stuff, sharing key learnings on how to create a new purpose.

ANDREW RYAN

Andrew captained the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs to their 2004 Grand Final win and represented Australia internationally 11 times. 

Andrew's post-NRL career as the Player Welfare Officer, he's focused on managing the health and wellbeing of their star players. A recent appointment to The Clontarf Foundation provides hands-on opportunities to motivate and encourage. 

Andrew's an expert in career transitioning and goal-setting, using his own examples of life- after-sport to motivate.

ANGELA LOCKWOOD

Angela Lockwood is Australia’s leading authority on finding calm from chaos. She is the author of two books on finding calm and emotional regulation, The Power of Conscious Choice and Switch Off and Find Calm. She is the host of the A Kid’s Life podcast where she helps adults better understand the complexities of life as a kid. 

As a qualified occupational therapist, Angela fully embraces the limitless power of simplification and positive energy. Practising what she preaches, she spends as much time as possible in nature taking the time to look up and around, forever thankful.

BRETT ROBINSON

Brett is a high-performance coach to Olympic level track and field athletes. He has travelled the world as a Performance Therapist for Olympic and Paralympic Athletes, the NRL, AFL & ARU. 

Awarded the Coach of the Year after coaching his para-athletes to Gold Medals and World records and the World Championships.

Robbo's session focuses on how to optimise your physical, mental and emotional capacities to get the most out of life.
